JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer 5 
LOCATION: Berkeley, MO
PAY RATE: $95.25/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Lead manufacturing process development, qualification, and sustainment efforts

  • Define and implement manufacturing strategies (automation, lean, DFMA, digital thread) to improve throughput, cost, and quality

  • Drive production readiness planning, risk mitigation, and readiness metrics for program execution

  • Lead investment planning for tooling, automation, and capital equipment; develop business cases

  • Establish standardized processes, best practices, and scalable production solutions

  • Lead complex problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives (root cause analysis, Six Sigma)

  • Integrate manufacturing considerations into product design and program reviews

  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to engineering teams; review and approve deliverables

  • Utilize data analytics, simulation, and model-based tools for process validation and capacity planning

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, quality, supply chain, production, industrial engineering) and external partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field

  • 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related field

  • 15+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace/defense or similar high-reliability industries

  • Expertise in process qualification, lean manufacturing, automation/robotics, and digital manufacturing tools

  • Strong project and program leadership experience (schedule, budget, stakeholder management)

  • Experience with tools such as CREO, CATIA, MES, DELMIA, FlexSim, ProModel

  • Familiarity with MESci and model-based enterprise practices (MBD/MBE)

  • Experience leading supplier integration, qualification, and production transfers

  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and review/approve technical work

  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Systems Engineering, or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Black Belt) are a plus
