Finish Line Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, optimize manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This hands-on role involves working directly on the production floor to improve efficiency, reduce costs, resolve quality issues, and support new product development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing operations, including equipment troubleshooting, process optimization, and production improvements.
Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve productivity, and lower manufacturing costs.
Support new product introductions, production startups, and improvements to existing manufacturing processes.
Design, develop, and troubleshoot manufacturing tools, fixtures, and jigs.
Investigate product quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with customers and internal teams on product design, material selection, and manufacturability.
Develop and maintain engineering drawings, technical documentation, and process specifications.
Support product failure analysis and prepare engineering and corrective action reports.
Evaluate manufacturing processes, tooling requirements, and material costs to support accurate cost estimates.
Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
Several years of experience in manufacturing engineering, product engineering, or a related technical role.
Experience in rubber, plastics, or material conversion manufacturing required.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product design, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D.
Proficiency with CAD software; Solid Edge experience preferred.
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO, IATF 16949, or similar quality management standards.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects while providing hands-on production support.
Experience with compression molding is a plus.
