Job Summary:We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer and CNC Programmer to join our team. You will be responsible for programming, tooling, 1st piece and process improvement. Job Responsibilities and Duties:CNC programing turning or milling to ensure all requirements and dimensions of customer drawings metCreate setup sheets, tool sheets and control documentation for aerospace partsRequired to create drawings for projects and products being madeDesign specialized tooling, fixtures, jigs or other devices to assist with manufactured productsManage projects from programming into production and provide necessary support to machinistsCarry out problem solving and process improvements including cost reductionsCreate methods and job travelersRequirements and Qualifications:5+ years experience in a job shop environmentKnowledge of Mastercam, Solidworks preferredUnderstanding of aerospace materialsAbility to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints and customer design specification sheetsKnowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and modelsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAble to communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels of the organization and customersAbout A-1 Machining CoA-1 Machining Co was incorporated in 1979 to serve the machining needs of the turbine engine OEMs. We operate with a consistent approach of quick and clear responsiveness and turnaround commitments. We have a long reputation for trust, reliability and excellent quality. We stay focused on our competency of turning and milling of aerospace turbine parts and aero-derivative and ground/marine turbines. We machine large parts with diameters up to 150", as well as smaller parts.We support our competency with a strong hands-on engineering staff who handle the range of engineering requirements from programming, tooling, 1st piece, and process improvement. A-1 is especially experienced in machining components in the hot section of the turbine and work with the very specialized materials used there. We machine exotic aerospace materials in sizes from 20" in diameter to very large retaining rings and fan cases. We utilize the many outstanding aerospace suppliers in central Connecticut for supporting processes such as Heat-Treat, NDT, EDM, etc. as required by our customers. This keeps A-1 focused and very competitive at our own competency of turning and milling.
