Description

Our large manufacturing client located in Peoria, Illinois, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Assembly Shop Support to add to their team on 1st and 2nd shift.JOB DESCRIPTION Provides Technical guidance to assembly shop floor employees for build process requirements and support groups for "out of process" activities.Understands and supports updates for Assembly PFMEA's/ Control Plans in alignment with current build processes, quality events, and risk mitigation activities.Responsibilities include incorporating learnings from reactive quality events , proactive audits, design or process changes, and PFMEA‑identified risks; ensuring Control Plans accurately reflect enforced in‑process controls (IPVs, poka‑yoke, interlocks); coordinating cross‑functional reviews with Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality; and supporting audit readiness and evidence of effective risk control on Assembly lines.Support process poke Yoke efforts and implement IPV's (In Process validations) utilizing PINpoint to mitigate future defects supporting Assembly lines. IPV's include but limited to Mitutoyo Wireless gages, DC tools integration, Barcoding, BIQ( built in Quality )Checklists, and or PLC integration.Top candidates will have Vision system experience or the ability to learn to program and integrate into systems for interlocking processes with Vision to Pinpoint controls.Manages Mfg Eng Standard work documentation and coordinates updates identified through proactive audits, reactive quality events and or identified through PFMEA/CP mitigation efforts.Engages in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic and safety requirements, Line efficiency improvements, driving out Line/process bottlenecks, addressing quality concerns and an understanding Line capacity planning. REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor or Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field is preferred,Must have 2+ years of experience working in the manufacturing industryKnowledge of manufacturing operations (assembly), and ability to understand blue prints and manufacturing documentation is requiredCandidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer softwareAnalytical, technical, and problem solving skillsDetail oriented with troubleshooting skillsStrong ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities is requiredMust be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-taskHigh energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essentialStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredMust enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skillsAbility to read, understand and follow regulations and procedures is requiredAbility to listen to others is important for this jobProfessional attitude, willingness to learn is required Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
