This role is critical to driving the development, optimization, and scalability of automated processes that transform battery cell designs into high-quality, production-ready components. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in equipment and process engineering with a passion for innovation, ensuring seamless integration of automation, precision, and efficiency in battery cell production.
Lead the deployment, validation, and continuous optimization of automated battery cell assembly equipment (e.g., filling, welding, dispensing, inspection, cleaning, handling)
Partner with Process, Maintenance, and Automation teams to ramp new cell designs and materials to full production with high yield and low downtime
PLC/HMI logic tuning, robotics performance, and mechanical/electrical system reliability
Apply GD&T, experimental design (DOE), and statistical process control (SPC) to validate process stability and reduce variation
Optimize conveyance, robotic handling, vision inspection, and automated welding systems for speed, precision, and repeatability
5+ years of hands-on experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing environments, preferably in EV battery or with high-speed precision manufacturing systems
Proven track record in equipment launch, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and OEE improvement on complex, integrated production lines
Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (BS degree required; advanced degree a plus)
Deep hands-on experience with industrial control systems (Siemens PLCs, Beckhoff TwinCAT), industrial robotics (Fanuc/ABB), and integrated automation systems including vision inspection (2D/3D), electrical interconnection, and automated material handling
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-system equipment failures under fast-paced production demands
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you thrive in cross-functional teams
