Role Summary/Purpose The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, improving, and implementing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure the highest quality standards are met. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of manufacturing techniques, tools, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities: • Process Development: Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products to improve efficiency and quality. • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the manufacturing process and lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. • Production Support: Provide day-to-day support to the production team, troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions when necessary. • Cost Reduction: Analyze manufacturing costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality or performance. • Equipment Management: Evaluate, specify, and procure new manufacturing equipment and tools. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of existing equipment. • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including process flows, work instructions, and production reports. • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and supply chain, to ensure smooth product development and production processes. • Health & Safety: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in metal forming / fabrication. • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other relevant manufacturing software. • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing. • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt). • Experience in Metal Forming, Assembly, Coating, Welding & Machining. • Solid interpersonal and leadership skills. • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
