We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and bringing automation solutions to life. In this role, you will evaluate manufacturing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and lead projects that enhance safety, quality, throughput, reliability, and efficiency at our Cincinnati-area manufacturing facility.

You will work closely with production, maintenance, plant leadership, vendors, and equipment suppliers to improve existing operations and support equipment upgrades, automation projects, and new installations.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze workflows, equipment layouts, space requirements, and labor needs to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Identify and eliminate process waste using tools such as value stream mapping, FMEA, control plans, SMED, time studies, and root cause analysis.
• Collect and interpret operational data to support decisions involving equipment, facilities, and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate equipment upgrades and replacements, including business justification and economic impact.
• Manage equipment and facility projects, including installations, upgrades, relocations, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and optimize PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, variable frequency drives, sensors, vision systems, controls hardware, and industrial networks.
• Support capital projects involving machine controls, automation upgrades, and new equipment.
• Partner with production, maintenance, contractors, and vendors to resolve electrical, controls, and equipment-related issues.
• Develop and maintain facility and equipment layouts.
• Work with suppliers on equipment, component, and part specifications and qualification.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least three years of engineering experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting PLC-based manufacturing equipment. Allen-Bradley experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of industrial automation, electrical controls, HMIs, VFDs, machine safety systems, and industrial sensors.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work effectively with controls contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is valuable.
• Familiarity with applicable OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Experience That Can Help You Stand Out

• Automation and controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Keyence sensors, vision inspection systems, laser measurement devices, or barcode readers.
• Demonstrated success improving equipment safety, quality, throughput, or reliability.
• Experience leading equipment installations, automation upgrades, or capital projects.

Work Environment

This is an active, plant-based engineering role. The position regularly requires sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and navigating the manufacturing environment. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation Information:

$80,000-$100,000 plus annual incentive plan
