Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Sterling Engineering is partnering with a highly respected, industry-leading manufacturer with decades of proven success to hire a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role offering genuine ownership of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and new product introductions.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who thrives on the shop floor, enjoys collaborating across engineering, operations, and supply chain, and wants to play a key role in driving innovation from concept through full-scale production. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixtures to maximize quality, efficiency, and throughput
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert for production equipment, machinery capabilities, and manufacturing processes
  • Lead new product development and industrialization efforts from design concept through production launch
  • Review and enhance product designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, and performance optimization
  • Support product and component testing, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Own and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, routings, and engineering change notices (ECNs)
  • Partner closely with suppliers on component design, material selection, and manufacturability improvements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or production-focused environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with metals, CNC machining, tooling, dies, and fixtures
  • Demonstrated success taking products from concept through production and scaling manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent) for product and tooling design
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is strongly preferred
