PGS Worldwide is seeking Manufacturing Engineers Work Instructions & Process Improvement in Endicott, New York for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will create and improve manufacturing work instructions and procedures, convert existing documentation into updated manufacturing systems, and support process improvements using Lean assembly principles.
Required Skills
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
4+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience supporting manufacturing processes, procedures, documentation, or production operations.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Ability to create, maintain, and improve detailed manufacturing work instructions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage assigned projects with limited supervision.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Skills
Production or electronics manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing or electronics processes and procedures.
Experience supporting assembly, disassembly, soldering, component removal/installation, or coating operations.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar production systems.
Experience with CAD or other visual documentation tools.
Experience creating technical illustrations or visual aids for manufacturing instructions.
Technical certificate or college degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles.
Technical writing and research experience.
What You'll Do
Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing work instructions and procedures.
Convert existing manufacturing instructions into updated documentation systems.
Develop detailed procedures supporting assembly, disassembly, soldering, component installation and removal, coating, and related manufacturing activities.
Define sequences of operations and manufacturing methods.
Improve manufacturing processes using Lean assembly principles.
Evaluate manufacturing methods for efficiency, operator effectiveness, quality, and production requirements.
Develop procedures supporting fabrication of tools, equipment, and related manufacturing resources.
Provide feedback to engineering and production teams regarding build and design processes.
Support manufacturing safety, quality, and product-compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate and detailed production documentation.
Support audits and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Work Schedule / Shift
Full-time onsite in Endicott, New York.
1st Shift: Monday Friday.
Approximately 7:00 AM 3:00 PM.
40 hours per week.
No overtime is currently expected.
Pay
$32.89 per hour.
