The Operations Engineering Team provides engineering and project management expertise in support of manufacturing new products and the advancement of existing manufacturing processes. The Operations Engineer will lead projects to completion in a cost-effective and timely manner, handle multiple projects, and plan, prioritize and execute assignments.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Sustain existing manufacturing lines
Ensure manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets by reducing costs, maximizing efficiency, and minimizing manufacturing downtime
Improve manufacturing processes by leveraging lean principles, good manufacturing practices, and six sigma methodologies
Lead engineering projects and track project progress
Design, build and/or purchase fixtures, equipment and tools as needed to increase efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and quality
Collaborate with other engineers to analyze manufacturing/assembly issues and identify, test and implement the most effective solutions in a timely manner
Conduct equipment and process validations, qualifications, and verifications
Foster an environment of continuous improvement and provide support to internal customers in a variety of functional areas
Collaborate with a cross functional teams to transfer new products into production by providing recommendations regarding product design, assembly techniques and manufacturing processes

Education
Experience/Knowledge
5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
Mechanical/electrical problem-solving skills required
Ability to read and interpret drawings and or schematics
CAD Experience
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Leadership and communication abilities to guide cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Automation Experience
Metal stamping and tool & die experience a plus
Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, SPC, TPM
Proficient in AutoCAD 3D and SAP
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Sitting at workstation approximately 30 percent of work time
Standing and walking approximately 70 percent of work time
Must be able to travel up to 5% of work time
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces
