Manufacturing Engineer - Gear Shop

Full-time Gear Manufacturing Engineer role open in Greensboro, NC for a professional with 5+ years of experience in gear manufacturing, gear hobbing, CNC machining, gear grinding, turning, and precision machining. Experience with spur, helical, worm, and bevel gears, GD&T, metallurgy, and Lean Manufacturing is highly preferred.

Requirements & Skills

• 5+ years of gear manufacturing experience
• Expertise in gear hobbing, gear shaping, and/or gear grinding
• Experience manufacturing spur, helical, worm, and bevel gears
• Strong CNC machining and machining process knowledge
• Understanding of gear geometry, GD&T, tolerancing, and inspection
• Knowledge of metallurgy and manufacturing processes
• Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and production issues
• Ability to evaluate and implement manufacturing equipment

Responsibilities

• Optimize manufacturing processes for precision gear production
• Support hobbing, turning, grinding, and secondary machining operations
• Troubleshoot production and quality issues using root cause analysis
• Improve throughput, quality, and manufacturing efficiency
• Partner with quality, maintenance, and production teams
• Support equipment selection, installation, and startup
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation
• Train and support machinists on best practices
• Drive continuous improvement and preventive maintenance initiatives
• Lead projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
