This position ensures successful industrialization of new products from concept through full-scale production, while optimizing processes, improving quality, reducing costs, and ensuring on-time project delivery. It will involve travel to 4 manufacturing sites here in the U.S.

This role partners cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial teams to drive product launches, scale-up activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Tasks

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches from design transfer through production ramp-up
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment for new products
  • Support PFMEA, control plans, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and production trials
  • Drive pilot builds, line trials, and production scale-up while meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets

Project Management

  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects related to new product launches and process improvements
  • Develop detailed project plans including scope, timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables
  • Track and communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders
  • Ensure projects meet milestones, budgets, and performance objectives
  • Coordinate capital projects including equipment specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning

Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Research, design, and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, yield, scrap reduction, and labor efficiency
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and changeover efficiency

Operations Support

  • Provide daily engineering support to production to maintain performance targets
  • Develop standard work instructions and train operators and maintenance teams
  • Ensure robust process control and quality systems are maintained

Cost & Performance Optimization

  • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through process innovation and material optimization
  • Prepare and justify capital appropriation requests (CARs)
  • Monitor and report on cost savings and operational improvements

Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Experience:

  • 5 years experience in manufacturing/process engineering or new product introduction
  • Strong project management skills (planning, execution, risk management)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint; Project preferred)
  • Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience leading NPI or product industrialization projects
  • Familiarity with stage-gate or product development lifecycle processes
  • Lean manufacturing experience (5S, TPM, Kaizen, VSM)
  • Knowledge of process validation, PFMEA, and statistical analysis
  • CAPEX project management experience
