Manufacturing Engineer I

Status: Exempt (salaried)

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer l is a vital team member that supports activities related to the development, improvement, and continual operation of Plug Power's products. The position is responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects and contributing to the overall success of our engineering department and plays a critical role in the development and refinement of manufacturing processes, material flow, and standard operating procedures.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work to understand Plug Power products and related manufacturing objectives and constraints.
  • Assist with the evaluation of manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from technicians.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Supports the improvement of manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Assists with the engineering change process and all relevant communication/documentation
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Build relationships and engage in regular communications with cross-functional colleagues.
  • Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner all interactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • BS in Engineering or a STEM related discipline
  • Up to 3 years' experience in Engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Uncompromising dedication to quality
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage one or two projects concurrently.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams

Pay Rate:

$66,000.00 - $99,000.00
