Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer- Cost Improvement, to join our Fireplaces Business Unit in Mt. Pleasant, IA. We are the nation’s leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative approach is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers’ needs.
The Fireplaces Business Unit is one of our key business units within Hearth & Home Technologies, featuring leading brands such as Heat & Glo, Majestic, Heatilator, and more.
This position has core hours of Monday through Thursday, 6:00AM – 4:20PM.

Key Responsibilities
- Drives annual material and labor savings initiatives across the facility
- Connects Production and New Product Development to advance continuous improvement efforts
- Evaluates and confirms design updates in Creo and SolidWorks before handoff to New Product Development
- Spearheads production design optimization and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Designs and deploys poka-yoke systems to enhance product quality
- Leads automation and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 years of related experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, primarily Excel, Project, Outlook and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

Work Environment
- Primarily in a Manufacturing facility with split focus between an office environment and the production floor.
- Periodic work outside core business hours may be required during key business projects and less than 10% travel.
