SUMMARY

Are you passionate about transforming manufacturing processes and driving operational excellence? As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing fabrication, welding, powder coating, and assembly operations. You'll lead initiatives that enhance productivity, ergonomics, and plant flow-while collaborating across teams to solve complex challenges and deliver measurable results.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer II role offers a dynamic mix of hands-on engineering, strategic problem-solving, and occasional travel for training, field support, and equipment commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve production processes using A3 methodology and data-driven insights
  • Drive performance in Earned vs. Paid metrics and First Pass Yield through continuous improvement
  • Design and route fixtures and tooling using MRP and CAD software
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement timely corrective actions
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and CWIs to resolve production challenges
  • Support Workforce Development by integrating technical training for direct and indirect labor
  • Lead the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for the ME team, ensuring accuracy and knowledge sharing
  • Prioritize projects using data with a focus on Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery
  • Qualify new processes, including documentation, operator training, and certification
  • Work independently while communicating effectively across all levels of the organization

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to drive results through data
  • Experience in custom fabrication and welding in a high-mix, low-volume environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Familiarity with Lean principles, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and lead time reduction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing production needs
