Trion specializes in indoor air quality solutions that reduce airborne contaminants in commercial, industrial, and residential environments.

Our Sanford facility plays a key role in manufacturing innovative indoor air quality (IAQ) products, including air cleaners, filtration systems, and air purification solutions that help create healthier indoor environments. This position will be instrumental in driving manufacturing excellence, supporting new product introductions, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives across our production operations.

    What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer with ASC, you will support manufacturing performance and operational excellence by:

    • Leading process improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
    • Partnering with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Management teams to support new product introductions, engineering changes, and manufacturability improvements.
    • Developing, maintaining, and improving work instructions, process documentation, routings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Analyzing manufacturing metrics and production data to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Supporting equipment selection, tooling development, workstation design, facility layouts, and manufacturing process optimization.
    • Applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to improve throughput, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.
    • Conducting time studies, labor analysis, line balancing, and capacity planning to support workforce and production planning decisions.
    • Leading PFMEA development and applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve product quality, reduce complexity, and support efficient production processes.
    • Supporting automation initiatives and evaluating opportunities to improve manufacturing performance through technology and process enhancements.
    • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

    What We're Looking For

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with:
      • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
      • PFMEA development and risk assessment
      • Time studies, labor analysis, and process optimization
      • Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design platforms.
    • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for BOM management, engineering changes, routings, and production planning.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in HVAC, indoor air quality (IAQ), filtration, air movement, or related manufacturing industries.
    • Experience in assembly, electro-mechanical, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
    • Familiarity with automation, robotics, vision systems, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and manufacturing documentation requirements.
    • Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
    • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.

    Work Environment

This role is primarily based within a manufacturing facility and includes exposure to production equipment, assembly operations, material handling activities, and standard industrial noise levels. The position requires regular interaction with manufacturing teams and may involve standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Why Join ASC in Sanford, NC?
