The Engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance production timelines.Position Specific DetailsMultiple positions availableShifts: 1st | Mon‑Fri (8am‑5pm), A | Mon‑Thu (5am‑3:30pm), B | Mon‑Thu (3pm‑1:30am), C | Fri‑Sun (5am‑5:30pm), D | Fri‑Sun (5pm‑5:30am)Location: Kent, WARelocation: AvailableKey ResponsibilitiesSupport the industrialization of new products in areas such as fluids, avionics, optics, antennas, and mechanical assemblies.Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT) to build reliable vehicles for space exploration.Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin's mission.Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods, such as composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, and advanced assembly.Support root‑cause analysis of process or product non‑conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.Identify and complete opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction, optimizing our ability to achieve our mission at scale.Team Focus & Domain ExpertiseLunar Operations play a crucial role in the successful deployment and operation of Blue Origin's lunar vehicles. This division collaborates closely with engineering, quality assurance, and logistics teams to guarantee that the vehicle meets all mission requirements and performs flawlessly in the challenging lunar environment.Minimum QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related accredited field)5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering1+ years of experience creating English work instructionsMust be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed; open to extended hours if required.Preferred QualificationsExperience in high‑rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotiveExperience with specialty commodity or technology such as multi‑layer insulation (MLI), machining, fluids fabrication, harness fabrication, or composite fabricationUnderstanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including working knowledge of GD&TExperience working with Bill‑of‑Materials and BOM reconciliationPrior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotiveKnowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principlesExperience with AS9100 quality standardsBase Pay Range for WA applicants: $112,059.00 – $156,882.60Other site ranges may differ.Culture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
