The Manufacturing Engineer III is a highly experienced role that is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment in one or more facilities. Oversees and optimizes more complex manufacturing and assembly of new and existing Parker products to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence. Develops advanced manufacturing techniques, testing new systems and methods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety. May be responsible for developing and deploying large capital projects.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct or indirect reports, but does have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports.

  • Manufacturing Process Flow - Plans and designs complex and advanced manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Determines equipment and tooling needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.

  • Process Improvement - Helps develop and implement process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. Leads teams in large scope process improvement initiatives.

  • Engineering Design Support - Recommends design concepts for engineering leadership regarding concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensures complex processes and procedures comply with regulations for multiple solution lines. Applies frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

  • Remediation - Investigates and takes corrective action to ensure product quality and resolve quality issues.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field with 8+ years of experience

  • Advanced knowledge and ability to apply concepts of engineering to multiple solution lines

  • Ability to conceptualize, draft, and deploy mechanical equipment and automated systems using solid modeling CAD.

  • Possess a strong mechanical systems aptitude with a robust pneumatic and electrical controls background to effectively troubleshoot existing equipment and properly spec components for new builds.

  • Production welding and brazing process experience. Demonstrate the ability to develop and optimize automated weld processes that include GTAW, PAW, and GMAW. Thoroughly understands metallurgical principles and develops best in class processes for CAB brazing, torch brazing, and induction brazing.

  • Stamping die engineering experience. Design and collaborate with tool makers to develop and optimize punch press tooling for prototype, single hit, and progressive dies.

  • Experience with specifying, deploying, and troubleshooting automated systems that incorporate collaborative and industrial robots.

  • Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT)

  • Advanced knowledge of data structures and database programming

  • Ability to demonstrate strong and effective trouble shooting and root cause analysis to solve problems using six sigma principles.

  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications

  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task

  • Strong prioritization skills

  • Strong computer skills, including mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
