Hexcel is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our Burlington, WA location. Primary recruitment is for one school quarter. The position can be extended beyond one quarter based on student availability. Hourly Wage: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour 

 

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

 

  • Leveraging skills in digital manufacturing to assist in transforming existing manual and paper based systems into digital formats using MES software such as DELMIA Apriso, and CAD/CAM systems such as CATIA V5 and DraftSight.
  • Assisting Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programmers in identifying and implementing process improvements using additive manufacturing technology, automation, composite manufacturing tooling and equipment design and fabrication.
  • Collaborating with Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering to author equipment and process work instructions and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary Continuous Improvement projects through participation in Kaizen events using Lean/5S methods and six sigma events utilizing experimental design (DOE), data collection and statistical evaluation.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Student must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or post-graduate in a Mechanical, Plastics, Composites or Manufacturing Engineering degree program (B.S. or B.A.).
  • Computer proficiency required with experience in MS Office and parametric solid modeling preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate good organizational and communication skills.
