If you are passionate about Lean Manufacturing and can thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented, and data‑driven environment this is the perfect opportunity for you.Essential FunctionsProcess ownership of the Machining and Backstand Grinding DepartmentsDevelop new and refine existing equipment and processes to reduce scrap, rework and product costWork in tandem with supervisory staff to meet production requirementsIndependently manage a portfolio of projects to find and fix the root cause and part quality issuesPrepare and document work instructions to maintain ISO complianceUse Continuous Improvement tools and processes like DMAIC to improve processesInvestigate, propose and manage large capital projectsAct as a liaison between design engineering and manufacturing personnelWork with a team to develop new processes for new products and using HPPD (High Performance Product Development) process when applicableWork closely with vendors supplying tooling for equipment or parts in your departmentAttend safety meetings and training programs and participate in plant safety programs as requiredWork closely with all team members to ensure each task is completed safely and efficientlyBecome the machining and robotic grinding subject matter expert for the plant and work to improve tooling and inspection equipmentStrong understanding of robotics in order to work closely with the controls team to develop new programs and improvements to robotic finishing equipmentRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field3‑8 years experience process engineering in CNC machining, grinding, and/or roboticsStrong mechanical aptitude and a hands‑on approachPassion for developing and executing best‑in‑class grinding and finishing processesExcellent problem‑solving skills and ability to independently manage and prioritize projectsDependable, self‑motivated, and engaged learnerAbility to interact and communicate with different job functions and lead cross‑functional teamsAbility to read and understand part and tooling prints and modify prints using CADEffective verbal and written communication skills, including shift notes and emailsPreferred QualificationsOkuma OSP proficiency to improve and create current or new programsExperience defining machine tooling specifications and optimizationProgramming experience with Robotics (Fanuc preferred)Experience using offline robot programming software like RobotMasterExperience using offline machining programming CAM software like MasterCAMProficiency in 3D modeling software like SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoDeskKnowledge and understanding of GD&THistorical understanding of abrasives for metal finishing and/or machining practicesProficiency with Microsoft products including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointExperience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologiesWorking ConditionsAbility to occasionally lift 35 lbs.Travel may be required for training and new equipment qualificationsPosition is located in a stainless steel foundryBenefitsWe offer valuable benefits, including a competitive 401(k) plan with company match, health benefits, paid time off, a robust Wellness Program, and more.Brunswick is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
