Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Location: Flowood, MS
Pay: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and oversee manufacturing engineering operations within a CNC machining and sheet metal manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising manufacturing engineers and drafters while driving process improvements, tooling development, production efficiency, quality initiatives, and cost reduction efforts.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure products meet customer specifications, production schedules, and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers, technicians, and drafters.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, routings, tooling, fixturing, and labor standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate and implement capital equipment and process improvement projects.
  • Provide facility layout and process flow recommendations to improve operations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Review, approve, and initiate engineering drawings, revisions, and change requests.
  • Manage engineering resources, staffing needs, performance evaluations, and employee development.
  • Support new product launches and oversee the transition of products from engineering to production.
  • Establish departmental objectives, priorities, and project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain engineering procedures and process control documentation.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Utilize ERP systems and engineering software to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to create and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
