Established in 1986, MPS now operates as a standalone company with a workforce of over 2,000 team members worldwide and seventeen production facilities across North America.Our culture centers on respect, openness, collaboration, personal growth, and entrepreneurship, with a deep commitment to environmental, health and safety excellence through our Mission Zero initiative.Location: Mankato, MN – Our facility is a leading force in the metal casting industry, building the components that move, feed, power, and heal the world.We offer Competitive pay: $72,000 – $100,000Great benefits: health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and moreA strong company culture with integrity, innovation, and community giving backKey Responsibilities Own and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure safe, capable, and efficient production that meets quality, delivery, and cost objectivesDevelop, document, and maintain standard work, process flow diagrams, work instructions, and manufacturing specificationsSupport new product introductions (NPI), including process development, risk assessment, production trials, and launch readinessUtilize Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools to support cost‑reduction initiatives, reduce waste, improve flow, and increase productivity through process optimization, labor balancing, and material utilization improvementsPartner with other departments to analyze process performance using data to address nonconformances, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actionsSupport capital equipment, tooling, and automation projects, including justification, implementation, and validationEnsure processes comply with EHS requirements, ergonomic standards, and company safety initiativesProvide technical support to production teams and help train operators on new or improved processesCollaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to evaluate and improve plant layouts for manufacturability, process robustness, efficiency, workflow, and future growthFamiliarity with PFMEA, control plans, and change management in a production environmentStrong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improvementsEffective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teamsSelf‑directed, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP or manufacturing systems experience a plusWhat You Need To Succeed Essentials (Required) Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field OR equivalent experience in a manufacturing‑focused engineering role3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering role within an industrial or heavy manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of manufacturing process development, process control, and continuous improvement methodologiesWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesExperience with root‑cause analysis methodologiesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentationPreferred Skills (A Plus!) Experience in iron foundry operations, including melting, molding, core making, pouring, shakeout, cleaning, and finishing processesFamiliarity with manufacturing data collection systems and production dashboardsExperience working with process control dataUnderstanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), control charts, and process capability metricsAbility to analyze and visualize data using tools such as Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables), Power BI, or similar platformsExperience collaborating with controls or automation engineers on equipment upgrades or process improvementsFamiliarity with industrial controls concepts (sensors, PLC‑driven equipment, HMI data) at a user or process‑owner levelInterest in digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, or smart factory initiativesExperience turning manufacturing data into actionable improvement projects rather than reporting onlyJoin Our Team!
