This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing waste, enhancing quality, and ensuring safe, reliable operations. The engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams to analyze data, solve problems, implement Lean initiatives, and support day‑to‑day manufacturing performance. In addition, this role partners closely with engineering and operations teams to support new product implementation (NPI) and ensure seamless production readiness for new and updated products.Essential FunctionsProcess Improvement & OptimizationAnalyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvementDevelop and implement solutions using Lean, Six Sigma, and engineering principles to reduce waste and improve throughputConduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity assessments to support production planningMonitor and maintain process documentation, standard work, and work instructionsData Analysis & ReportingCollect, analyze, and interpret operational data to drive decision‑makingBuild reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate trends, performance metrics, and improvement opportunitiesPresent findings and recommendations to operations leadership and cross‑functional teamsProject Support & ExecutionSupport implementation of new equipment, tooling, or process upgradesLead small‑to‑medium projects focused on efficiency, quality, or safety improvementCollaborate with quality, engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure successful project executionAssist with root cause analysis and corrective action development (5Y, Fishbone, DMAIC, etc.)Manufacturing SupportProvide daily support to operations by troubleshooting process issuesMaintain close communication with supervisors, technicians, and operators to understand production needsSupport training and rollout of new procedures or process changesEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standardsNew Product ImplementationParticipate in early design reviews to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and safety considerations are incorporatedPrepare production areas by ensuring equipment, tools, fixtures, and workstations are ready for launchDefine and document Standard Work, Work Instructions, and process flow diagramsCreate process plans, routings, and time standards (MTM/TMOD, Time Studies)Support line design, layout optimization, and ergonomic assessments for new production workflowsPartner with Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Program Management to ensure seamless product introductionDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Compensation decisions are dependent on the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
