    Description

    OVERVIEW:

The Manufacturing Engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

    THE POSITION:

    • Create/edit/maintain Engineering documentation such as:

    • CNC Programs

    • Geometry specification data

    • Process documentation

    • Project data analysis and reporting

    • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.

    • Develop and draft plans for manufacturing procedures.

    • Assist and/or lead Continuous Improvement initiatives including:

    • Cycle time optimization

    • Setup time reduction (SMED)

    • Reducing machine down time

    • Increasing machine efficiencies

    • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

    • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

    • Assist and/or lead company projects and engineering efforts.

    • Educate, train, and supervise all employees on current manufacturing and workflow processes.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    WHAT YOU CAN BRING:

    • Bachelors degree in engineering preferred

    • 2+ years of manufacturing experience required

    • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of:

    • Process development, documentation, and implementation

    • Reducing machine down time

    • Increasing machine efficiencies

    • Project management

    • Experience with Six sigma problem solving tools (i.e. DMAIC) preferred.

    • Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

    • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

    • Problem solver familiar with root cause analysis techniques.
