    Description

The Manufacturing Engineer-New Product Introduction is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance. This role serves as the liaison between customer engineering requirements and the production floor, translating customer specifications into manufacturable processes, and supporting accurate cost estimation for quoting. The Manufacturing Process Engineer partners closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, reduce waste, improve process capability, and drive continuous improvement across machine operations and production workflows.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, throughput, and yield
    • Analyze production workflows to eliminate waste and improve cycle times
    • Develop and maintain standard work instructions, PFMEA (Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis), and control plans
    • Support new product introductions (NPI) with scalable, repeatable, and well-controlled processes
    • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and process capability studies to optimize process performance and stability
    • Provide hands-on support to production teams to resolve process and equipment issues
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
    • Monitor process performance and improve yield, scrap, and efficiency
    • Collaborate with maintenance to resolve equipment-related issues impacting production
    • Evaluate and improve machine performance, reliability, and capability
    • Support equipment selection, installation, validation, and commissioning
    • Develop and maintain process parameters to ensure consistent operation within defined limits
    • Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
    • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs
    • Facilitate Kaizen events and structured improvement projects
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities where applicable
    • Track and report improvements in key metrics
    • Partner with quality teams to ensure processes meet product specifications and compliance standards
    • Develop and implement process controls, including SPC (Statistical Process Control), PFMEA, and control plans
    • Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gage R&R studies, to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurement systems
    • Conduct process capability analysis (Cp, Cpk) and drive continuous quality improvement
    • Support internal and external audits and maintain compliance with quality systems (e.g., ISO)
    • Drive defect reduction and sustainable corrective actions
    • Ensure manufacturing processes incorporate safety and ergonomic best practices to minimize risk of injury and improve operator efficiency
    • Identify and mitigate process-related safety risks, including ergonomics, machine guarding, and material handling
    • Partner with EHS and operations teams to support safe work environments and continuous safety improvement initiatives
    • Support implementation of safety standards, procedures, and training related to process changes.
    • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams
    • Act as the technical bridge between customer requirements and manufacturing execution
    • Support training of operators and supervisors on new processes and equipment
    • Provide technical documentation and guidance to ensure consistent execution.

    BACKGROUND PROFILE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
    • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
    • Hands-on experience supporting production and machine operations
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
    • Process improvement and optimization
    • Root cause analysis and problem-solving
    • Statistical analysis and data-driven decision making
    • Technical aptitude with manufacturing equipment
    • Quality systems and process control expertise
    • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Attention to detail and execution focus
    • Safety and ergonomics awareness

    Preferred

    • Experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing environments
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
    • Experience with automation or robotics
    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
    • Experience with data analysis tools, SPC, and statistical methods (DOE, capability studies, Gage R&R)
