About the Opportunity
We are currently hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer
position with one of our clients in New York, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for engineering professionals interested in manufacturing processes, production efficiency, quality improvement, automation, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, an understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work closely with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams.
Qualified new graduates with relevant engineering education, internships, co-op experience, academic projects, or hands-on manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
- Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
- Work with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related issues.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with process validation, testing, equipment qualification, and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
- Assist with equipment selection, process layout, tooling, fixtures, and production line improvements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), process changes, and production ramp-up activities.
- Ensure manufacturing processes follow applicable safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, process documentation, and recommendations for management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Ability to analyze production data and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to understand technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience in manufacturing or engineering.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of process improvement and root cause analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, or production systems.
- Experience with Excel, statistical analysis, or manufacturing data analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Exposure to quality systems, process validation, or corrective action processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications is a plus.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification is beneficial but not required.
New Graduate Consideration
New graduates with relevant engineering education and practical exposure are encouraged to apply.
Candidates with experience through engineering internships, co-op programs, academic manufacturing projects, laboratory work, capstone projects, or technical training may be considered for entry-level opportunities.
Prior full-time manufacturing engineering experience is not mandatory for qualified entry-level candidates who demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, problem-solving, and process improvement.
Candidates with prior hands-on manufacturing, production, process engineering, or continuous improvement experience will be strongly considered.
