Manufacturing Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking Manufacturing Engineers in Orlando, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support precision machining and manufacturing operations with a focus on special processes, small-parts assembly, tooling, automation, and continuous process improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will work hands-on with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues, improve quality and efficiency, and implement new technologies supporting ultraprecision components.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience working in a production manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience with CAD software such as Siemens NX, Creo, Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing requirements.
• Experience supporting manufacturing process development and improvement.
• Experience troubleshooting technical or manufacturing issues in a shop-floor environment.
• Ability to create detailed manufacturing work instructions.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• 3+ years of experience with MES, PLM, and/or ERP systems.
• 3+ years of small-parts assembly experience involving precision pins, rivets, helicoils, or similar hardware.
• 3+ years of GD&T interpretation experience.
• 3+ years of Creo or NX CAD experience.
• Experience with MIL-SPEC and industry-standard special processes such as chemical film, anodizing, passivation, plating, heat treatment, or organic coatings.
• 2+ years of paint application and masking experience with metallic or composite components.
• Experience using precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment.
• Experience implementing manufacturing automation solutions.
• 2+ years of 3D-printing experience.
• Experience with chemistry-related manufacturing processes including titrations, pH analysis, or plating-line troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards and common military specifications.

What You’ll Do

• Drive process improvements within small-parts assembly, paint, plating, and precision manufacturing operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings and convert requirements into detailed production work instructions.
• Perform root-cause analysis on component nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Develop fixture and tooling concepts, drawings, and models.
• Evaluate and implement automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Support capital-equipment evaluation, selection, implementation, and project management.
• Provide hands-on shop-floor engineering support to resolve production and manufacturing issues.
• Support first-production and established production components.
• Monitor quality, schedule, and cost performance for assigned manufacturing activities.
• Partner with production, quality, engineering, and other technical teams to improve manufacturability and process performance.

Work Schedule / Shift

Two schedule options are available:

• 4/10 Weekend Schedule: Thursday–Sunday; Monday–Wednesday off.
• 4/10 Second Shift: 2:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Both positions are full-time onsite in Orlando, Florida.

Pay

• $53.65 per hour.
