VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for our Devens MA location.Job PurposeAs aManufacturing Engineer Packagingat VulcanForms Inc. your main objective will be to provide technical leadership within the NPI New Product Introduction team. You will be responsible for the engineering associated with the manufacturing processes to manufacture parts components sub-assemblies and final assemblies as well as determining and designing appropriate packaging solutions for in-process and final packaging. This work includes providing documentation and floor support for manufacturing quality tooling and equipment estimating manufacturing costs and determining time standards for new and existing product lines. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of manufacturing operations and health and safety regulations to achieve the highest standards and a safe work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesWork with NPI teams on new customer requests and projects for post processing subtractive processes and packaging requirementsDevelop implement and maintain processes in manufacturing parts components sub-assemblies and final assemblies.Estimate manufacturing costs determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines.Identify andor develop appropriate packaging solution for new parts to ship both to outside suppliers as well as finished goods shipments to customersUse data-driven root cause and corrective action tool usage to support business goals & objectives.Drive product cost reduction and ensure meeting targets through process improvements and deployment of new technologies.Leverage advanced technology solutionscapital investment to support productivity improvements and capacity for future programs.Responsible for determining processes requiring validation development of plans and analysis criteria execution and final analysis and acceptance.Assist subcontractors in resolving manufacturing and quality-related issues.Assist customers in determining product issues including line downs repairs non-conformances and corrective and preventative actions.Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns and adhere to the safety policies and procedures.Qualifications5 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineerandor Packaging EngineerBachelor Degree in EngineeringStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operationsExperience with packaging requirements for customer applicationsStrong understanding of packaging testing & qualification Ability to develop and implement qualified processes using applicable systems process failure mode and effect analysis fault tree analysis process validation process planning tools design of experimentsExperience in developing and incorporating new technologies into the manufacturing process.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques Quality Systems and SPC toolsPreferredExperience in Metal Additive Manufacturing.Experience in Subtractive Manufacturing Methods turning milling grinding etcExperience qualifying equipment for medical manufacturing IQs OQs & PQs.Experience developing and implementing automated cells.VulcanFormsoffers a competitive salary and equitypackage.Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidates skills qualifications and experience.In additionVulcanFormsprovides comprehensive benefits including medical dental vision and life insurance generous paid time off and a 401k plan with companymatch.The annual base salary range for this position is 96000 to 132000.
