PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Palmdale, California for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, fabrication, equipment installation, and material handling. The role focuses on first-time build process development, cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, and use of manufacturing technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and operational performance.

Required Skills

  • Active Secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years or Continuous Evaluation enrollment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross-functionally with industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and/or production planning
  • CATIA V5 experience
  • Experience developing and testing new manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Experience with one or more of the following: measurement and calibrated equipment, fuel lines and pumping systems, hydraulic systems, ovens, autoclaves, or composite fabrication
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures related to fabrication, assembly, machining, and specialty equipment
  • Experience with MRP, SAP, or another manufacturing execution system
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to clearly articulate hands-on experience with required skills

Preferred Skills

  • First-time build or first-time product development experience
  • Previous experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or computer-aided manufacturing software
  • Experience creating and analyzing 3D model-based manufacturing data environments
  • Experience developing digital work instructions
  • Experience with statistical process control, reporting, and data analytics for continuous improvement

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, fabrication, equipment installation, processing, and material handling
  • Drive adoption of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality
  • Create and analyze 3D model-based data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions
  • Define operational procedures and build sequences using knowledge of materials and automated processes
  • Evaluate equipment and tool performance and initiate corrective actions to improve operations
  • Use factory data to support statistical process control and continuous improvement efforts
  • Provide input to product design teams on design concepts and specifications to improve manufacturability
  • Support first-time build efforts in a collaborative manufacturing environment
