Manufacturing Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Planner in Palmdale, CA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports manufacturing planning activities, including development of work instructions and management of manufacturing bills of material. You will collaborate across engineering and production teams to ensure accurate planning and execution of manufacturing processes.

Required Skills

• Experience with standard manufacturing planning processes and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and process documentation
• Experience creating and maintaining Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) and Order Bill of Material (OBOM)
• Experience with Teamcenter and/or SAP related to Bill of Material and Shop Floor Management (SFM)
• Experience with iBASEt (Solumina), Computer Aided Production Planning (CAPP), and/or Shop Order Maintenance (SOM)
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing planning
• Strong technical writing skills for developing work instructions and support documentation
• Strong communication, organization, scheduling, and time management skills
• Experience using computer applications such as MS Office and model-based engineering systems

What You’ll Do

• Create and maintain Manufacturing and Order Bills of Material
• Analyze engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop manufacturing plans
• Develop detailed work instructions and supporting documentation for production teams
• Collaborate with designers and production engineers to ensure manufacturability and compliance
• Interpret engineering and tooling requirements to support production processes
• Maintain and update electronic work instructions, including revisions as needed
• Support management and program reviews by documenting and tracking action items
• Ensure manufacturing processes align with policies, procedures, and program requirements
