Manufacturing Engineer - Quality, Hardware Engineering - ManufacturingAmazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals to help build the world's premier cloud computing platform. We are looking for Manufacturing Engineers who are capable of operating in a fast paced, ever changing, multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. This role is on‑site supporting some of our most complex products allowing you to be hands on to quickly resolve issues.Role OverviewAs a member of our Process Quality team, you will work closely with ODMs, CMs, internal AWS hardware and software development teams, and upstream component vendors to scale up manufacturing processes and ensure we can achieve our throughput and quality targets. This role requires the engineer to be a technical contact and take on full ownership of the manufacturing launch and resolution of process issues, driving production scale-up at the site and ensuring we hit our manufacturing targets.Key ResponsibilitiesScale up manufacturing on new products across a global network.Lead and oversee quality control processes across Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and component vendors.Deliver hands‑on technical support during new product introductions and launches.Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis.Manage Incoming, In‑process and Outgoing Quality of product and collaborate with Supplier Quality teams for RCCA at upstream suppliers.Drive Operational Readiness Review (ORR) and Ok2Ship for Manufacturing site readiness assessment.Drive Lessons Learned and Continuous improvement framework between sites.Support local operations by being in the factory daily and through regular domestic and international travel (up to 25%).Qualifications3+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience.Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Bachelor's or Master's). Equivalent experience acceptable.2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or high‑tech hardware.2+ years of product development experience.Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.Experience with the project management of technical projects.Solid understanding and demonstrated success with Lean / Six Sigma tools such as FMEA, DoE, MSA, ANOVA, Hypothesis Testing and Process Capability.Six Sigma Green/Black belt, ASQ CQE/M/A certifications are highly desired.Benefits and CompensationThe base salary range for this position is $136,000.00–$184,000.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
