Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is onsite at our Roanoke, VA facility. Relocation is not provided.The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 – $126,000 a year.What you'll do Design, develop, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and manufacturabilitySupport new product introduction (NPI) activities, including prototype builds, process development, and production readinessEvaluate existing products and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and quality improvementsDevelop and implement tooling, fixturing, and assembly methods to support safe and efficient productionTroubleshoot mechanical issues in production and implement robust corrective actionsCollaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, and optimize throughputCreate and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and work instructionsSupport testing and validation of products to ensure compliance with performance and reliability requirementsWork with suppliers to specify components, resolve technical issues, and improve part qualityLead or support continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) initiatives across assembly operationsEnsure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practicesBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.Ineligible for immigration sponsorship or support for this position: no CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F-1, H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, 1‑485, etc.No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Roanoke, VA to be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications Experience in high-volume assembly or electromechanical manufacturingKnowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) principlesExperience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesExperience supporting SMT, automated assembly, or testing systemsExposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred)Project management experience, including leading cross‑functional initiativesSkills Strong mechanical design and problem‑solving skillsHands‑on approach with the ability to work both on the floor and in engineering environmentsEffective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organizationAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced settingData‑driven decision making and analytical thinkingCommitment to continuous improvement and operational excellenceWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
