Volt is immediately hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in San Diego, CA.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Provide manufacturing support for Turbomachinery components manufacturing in Advanced Combustion Systems – Injectors
  • Develop detailed parts and assembly manufacturing plans and process requirements/operation instructions. 
  • Lead production quality investigation, resolution, and improvement, using statistical tools, like Minitab (SPC & Cpk) analysis.
  • Support new product development for manufacturability.
  • Create remanufacturing/rework plans.
  • Drive continuous process improvement.

 

This is a full-time long-term temp, possible temp to hire opportunity.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm plus overtime as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Four years of manufacturing engineering experience. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Excellent communication, collaborative, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to support production schedules and be able to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and SharePoint
  • Familiar with dimensioned drawings/operation instruction sheets
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Turbomachinery, Steel components manufacturing experiences; assembly & testing (preferred)
  • 6 Sigma and Lean process training and project experiences (preferred)
  • Working experiences with CMM (coordinate measuring machine), NDT (non-destructive testing), and solid modelling. (preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience with Baan ERP. (preferred)
  • Experience with Windchill, SFIS, Minitab, Quicksilver (preferred)

 

Pay Rate*: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour DOE

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
