Standard Job Description

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for the Metal Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering Team you will be responsible for performing in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Manufacturing Engineers work in close collaboration with the Production and Quality teams with a common goal to improve the safety, schedule, cost, and quality of the production programs. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong technical ability, excellent communication skills, and a desire to learn and grow.

Areas of Coverage:

Marietta Metal Fabrication which includes but is not limited to Machining Centers, Sheet Metal, Welding, Tube Bending, Subassembly, Chemical Processing, Painting, and Blanket fabrication.

Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required to apply with three years of professorial experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including design engineering, manufacturing planning, scheduling, facilities engineering, and/or industrial engineering.
• Experience utilizing and interpreting engineering documents including blueprints and specifications
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Desired Skills

• 3 + years of relevant experience or 1+ years of relevant experience with a Masters Degree
• Ability to mentor and teach individuals or small groups
• Fabrication process experience in any of the following areas: Machining, Sheet Metal, Welding, Tube Bending, Subassembly, Chemical Processing, Painting, and/or Blanket fabrication
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Experience with Lockheed Martin Aero manufacturing and assembly processes (C130, F16, F35, F22, etc)
• Experience with Capital Planning process and requirements

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
