About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Technical Support Engineer) to support Google s Cloud Infrastructure Hardware Quality team onsite at the Leesburg Data Center. This role focuses on reducing hardware damage, improving reliability, and supporting data-driven issue resolution within a live data center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and triage a ticket queue of hardware quality issues from data center teams
Perform first-level root cause analysis (RCA) on server and infrastructure hardware issues
Gather and analyze fleet/manufacturing data to identify trends and recurring defects
Create and escalate bugs to partner engineering/manufacturing teams
Develop actionable insights to improve reliability and reduce damage rates
Monitor and present hardware performance metrics to stakeholders
Improve technical documentation (deployment guides, repair procedures, population documents)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, or related Engineering discipline5+ years of experience in computing hardware quality, product engineering, test engineering, or hardware issue resolution
Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills
Experience with SQL, JMP, or Python for data analysis and visualization
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
