Manufacturing Engineer - Greater Seattle, WA area

Our client in the Greater Seattle, WA area is a precision manufacturer offering a variety of manufacturing and custom-engineered solutions to solve the most complex challenges and is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for providing support for their Company.

Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.

Position purpose/core responsibilities:

This Manufacturing Engineer position primarily entails Planning and implementing production processes as needed. Will have direct knowledge and experience in the Key Knowledge Section.

Main Duties:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; review production schedules; estimate future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain product by complying with government regulations.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

Key Knowledge:

  • Familiar with Aerospace Systems Hydraulic and Electro-Mechanical components utilized in:

  • Flight Control Systems.

  • Landing Gear Systems.

  • Hydraulic Systems.

  • Passenger, Cargo and Utility Door Systems.

  • Thrust Reverser Systems.

  • Components Include:

  • Hydraulic Actuators - Internal Locking and Non-Locking.

  • Hydraulic Valves, Reservoirs, Accumulators, Pumps.

  • Hydraulic Power Packs.

  • Linear and Rotary Electro-mechanical actuators.

  • Ball-screws, Roller Screws, ACME Screws.

  • Gears, Splines and Planetary Gear Sets.

  • Electronic Enclosures.

  • Good knowledge base in manufacturing processes used to make these types of products.

  • Desirable to have understanding of test methods used to qualify these types of products.

  • Desirable to have understanding of motors and control.

Qualifications:

  • S. or M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5 years preferred.
  • Experience Planning and implementing production process of Aerospace Systems Hydraulic and Electro-Mechanical Systems & Components.
  • Demonstrated technical and organizational leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to not just find problems, but also provide solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player both internally and externally.
