This role focuses on analyzing product designs to assess manufacturability, providing technical guidance, and improving manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve quality.Job SummaryTo analyze product designs of parts and assemblies to determine the manufacturability of components, assemblies, and tooling, provide technical guidance for manufacturing challenges, conduct method and system studies, and research and implement cost‑justified manufacturing techniques.Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with engineering on desired production tooling, build‑plan methodology and give input/feedback on design criteria to determine manufacturability.Determine manufacturing processes, tooling methodology, discrete manufacturing operations, and time standards for new parts/assemblies, author and maintain process plans.Develop learning‑curve and actual hour projections for new program production, analyze performance and recommend process improvements.Create Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) to break engineering product structure into logical manufacturing methodology for scheduling and sourcing.Provide technical guidance to initiate and drive Root Cause / Corrective Action on production issues related to design, material, tooling, specifications, and processes.Interpret engineering drawings, operation sequences, tooling functions and issue engineering change requests to improve production.Recommend production facility arrangements for capacity, flow, model incorporation, and transitions; maintain current layouts per standards.Work with cross‑functional personnel to solve production flow issues from sequence, balance, tooling constraints and manpower allocation.Identify, justify, and implement new technology and manufacturing techniques to improve safety, ergonomics, reduce costs, and improve quality.Gather, analyze and summarize production data for continuous improvement, utilizing Lean/CI methodologies.QualificationsEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree required in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field.Experience in machining discipline and machine shop standards processes preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Collaborative team player.Strong mechanical aptitude.Excellent organizational skills.Computer proficiency (MS Office, CAD, etc.).Textron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations.
