GENERAL PURPOSE This position is an opportunity for the Co‑Op Student to learn and experience multiple facets of Legrand AV operations. This position will be responsible for learning the aspects of the assigned area through a combination of hands‑on standard work as well as continuous improvement projects to increase the effectiveness of the organization.DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Conduct analysis of transactional times and propose improvements for inbound/outbound material flow using time studies, value stream mapping, and spaghetti diagrams.Learn Lean practices such as 5S, value stream mapping, and Kanban, and apply them to the Minnesota Operations Center.Learn the 8‑step problem‑solving methodology and implement at least one continuous‑improvement project during the coop assignment.Collaborate with assembly leads and manufacturing engineers to redesign assembly work cells, applying tools to fixture and layout installation to increase cell productivity and efficiency.Gain exposure to bill‑of‑materials structure, routings and build specification sheets, and understand how product development flows into daily activities.Support manufacturing engineers in troubleshooting issues from daily builds, redesigning processes to build finished goods more efficiently.Support compliance by maintaining confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non‑compliance, and adhering to applicable laws and policies.Understand workplace hazards, proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries, and cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.Demonstrate the company's five core values: Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment, and Continuous Improvement.JOB REQUIREMENTS Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills; professional presence and behavior.Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and absorb new information.Ability to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions.Attention to detail, ensuring important details do not slip through the cracks.Ethical integrity, avoids cutting corners, and earns trust while maintaining confidence.Proficient in personal computers, internet, and MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).Ability to work in a team environment and leverage additional resources as needed.Ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc. (mechanical aptitude).Working toward a bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical or manufacturing engineering, business operations or supply chain management.May require availability and communication during non‑standard business hours to communicate with global team members.Preferred: Experience with standard problem‑solving methodologies and familiarity with SAP.WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS Regular office environment; regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning).Must lift up to 40 pounds.Steel‑toed shoes required for this position.May require regular ground travel to other company facilities.Legrand is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
