Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries.Hermeus is seeking talented students to join our Manufacture Engineering team in Los Angeles to support improvement initiatives to expand in‑house manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the design, build, and testing of flight and critical ground support hardware.Summer: around 10 weeks (May - August)Fall: Around 16 weeks (September - December)ResponsibilitiesEvaluate designs for manufacturability and testing, providing feedback to design teamDesign and implement tooling and test solutions where appropriate, to support component build and deliveryDevelop new processes and procedures to support flight hardware buildsManage projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively and proactively communicating with stakeholdersProvide data‑driven solutions to technical issues encountered during buildActively interface with technician and engineering teams to resolve product non‑conformances and keep build on scheduleDevelop and refine floor layoutsSupport capacity modelling and time studies to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvementCollaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve large‑scale and widespread production challengesMinimum RequirementsPractical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program)Strong interest in vehicle hardwareStrong understanding of engineering first principlesDemonstrated ability to work within cross‑functional teamsEnthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's missionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGPA of 3.0 or aboveU.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS120.62or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
