SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager provides leadership and direction to the Manufacturing Engineering Department and serves as a critical link between Design Engineering and Manufacturing Operations. This position is responsible for overseeing manufacturing engineering activities including shop routing optimization, automated production equipment programming and configuration, process improvement initiatives, and production support functions. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager works closely with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, maintain quality standards, reduce costs, and support the successful execution of manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees as assigned and carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, engineering drawings, governmental regulations, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers, and vendors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts including algebra, geometry, statistics, ratios, percentages, and engineering calculations. Ability to analyze manufacturing and operational data, interpret graphs and charts, and apply mathematical reasoning to support process improvement, problem-solving, and decision-making activities. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, ERP/manufacturing software systems utilized by the company, CAD software, and other engineering and manufacturing technologies as required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee regularly interacts with the shop floor and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, must be worn when in designated production areas. Employees are expected to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
