To support the manufacturing of existing Hendrickson suspension components and the development of new Hendrickson suspension components while keeping Hendrickson a profitable company. We will do this by safely keeping our processes capable froma Quality standpoint, reducing, and eliminating costly scrap and rework and by simultaneously developing the manufacturing processes and tools needed to go with product development. We will focus on creating processes that are capable, sustainable, and within takt time. These processes must supportthe capacity needed by the customer within reasonable financial payback to our company.
The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer Technician is responsible for supporting production, quality, manufacturing engineering, and maintenance by helping to technically troubleshoot and maintain process flow. The technician will be required to solve problems by troubleshooting and determining the root cause and helping to implement permanent corrective actions. The technician will also be required to help implement new processes and related equipment and tooling. The technical aspects will include but are not limited to:
Maintain process capability and first pass yield and reduce scrap by helping to determine root cause and implementing permanent corrective actions.
Assist production and maintenance with technical issues causing downtime, reduction in first pass yield, or unsafe conditions.
Continual improvement of process and product quality. Improve methods (PCR process). Annual cost reduction projects.
Help implement new and existing processes to support new products.
Help implement new equipment, tooling, and fixtures while maintaining a safe and ergonomic workspace.
Complete assigned projects in a timely manner, following company standards, with minimal supervision.
Utilize online resources, manuals, prints and machine paperwork to troubleshoot equipment efficiently and effectively (mechanically and electrically).
Implement procedure and documentation updates (LOTO, PM, Engineering Alerts, Machine Prints).
Training operators on new/updated processes.
Assist/Direct maintenance with repairs and projects.
Assist in the development and maintenance of plant layouts.
Associates Degree in an Engineering related field preferred
Minimum of 3-years' experience in related field.
Constant standing, walking, reaching and balancing
Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling and climbing ladders
Minimal sitting and crawling
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Carry up to 50 lbs. approximately 5 feet
Push/Pull 20-40 lbs. of force 40 feet
Walking and working on the paint line cat-walk.
Working from a ladder or man-lift.
Must be willing to travel to Hendrickson manufacturing facilities on an as-needed basis
Must be willing to travel for training as required.
Must be able to lead the physical assembly of his/her own tooling and fixture designs and be able to adjust as needed.
Office setting and a non-temperature controlled shop floor setting
Candidate will be working in and around industrial machinery. May be exposed to the following processes and the environmental conditions inherent with each: paint, solvent, washer chemicals, ovens, enclosed spaces, welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes.
All necessary PPE (as defined by OSHA) and training associated with such will be provided.
Must be punctual, self-motivated, and ethical.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work well within a team environment and collaborate with different functional groups
