Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports Systems Engineering and Manufacturing teams by building custom automation, power, and monitoring equipment. This hands-on role involves assembling low/medium voltage systems, wiring control devices, performing IO checks, and troubleshooting. The technician collaborates with Controls and SCADA engineers, mechanical design teams, and production staff to bring equipment from concept to completion. This role reports to the VP of Engineering and receives daily direction from both the Systems Engineering team and the Director of Manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Assemble UIG products based on electrical and mechanical drawings Conduct project reviews with the design team, referencing similar past projects Support Systems Engineering during manufacturing builds; serve as their on-site representative Assist in testing, simulation, and troubleshooting of SCADA and control systems Fabricate control cabinets, wire panels, and assemble power system equipment Perform IO checks and program file validations in collaboration with engineering teams Review and verify drawing packages before manufacturing release Maintain tools, printers, simulators, and related equipment Apply NEC/NFPA codes and UIG standards to all builds Collaborate cross-functionally to meet project timelines and deliverables Modify and adapt builds based on sketches, verbal direction, or evolving requirements Complete basic machining tasks (drill, saw, tap, etc.) as needed Maintain inventory of frequently used components Ensure clear and prompt communication with engineers during the build process Occasionally assist with inspections, lifting around 40 lbs, and positioning oneself to access difficult-to-reach equipment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, automation, or design Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience using hand tools, meters, and test equipment Ability to stand or move for extended periods and travel up to 35% annually Self-starter with problem-solving skills and attention to detail Preferred Skills & Experience Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar 2D CAD tools Familiarity with communication and industrial automation tools such as Modscan, Wireshark, NMap, TIA Portal, Crimson 3, Proficy, and Protective relay software Understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus, Profinet, CANopen, J1939, EtherCAT, MQTT) Experience with NEC, UL standards, and electrical/mechanical drafting standards Comfortable in both office and manufacturing environments with occasional industrial exposure Apply for this Position Manufacturing Engineering Technician Position First Name Last Name Your email address Attach your CV/Resume (.pdf) Please tell us about yourself Leave this field blank Submit
