Description
Tesla's Cell Manufacturing Engineering team is looking for highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Technicians for an exciting new project. This role will be involved in the development, commissioning, and ramping of high-speed automated equipment, while working in a cross-functional team to test, validate, and roll-out process and product design changes.
The battery cell is a critical component in Tesla vehicles and storage systems. This role will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our products. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they join a highly motivated and capable team.
Support development, commissioning, and ramp of custom high-speed automated manufacturing equipment
Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and maintenance to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and suppliers to identify issues and drive engineering improvements
Debug and optimize automated processes to reduce cycle times and maximize OEE
Troubleshoot complex issues using PLC, HMI, and tool management software while supporting operations during extended downtime
Develop operating procedures, training materials, maintenance routines, and equipment documentation
Conduct analytical tests, record and interpret data, and participate in supplier and internal FAT/SAT activities
3+ years of hands-on operational and technical experience with mechatronics or electromechanical systems in a highly automated manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, high and low voltage systems, and electrical safety practices
Proficient in metal working, fabrication tools, hand/power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment
Ability to perform hands-on assembly, disassembly, and inspections with good manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 20 pounds
Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other business systems to manage and interpret technical data
Excellent attention to detail, structured problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with availability for domestic and international travel
