Do you enjoy taking a stubborn CNC fault from mystery to fix using schematics, a multimeter, and a methodical plan?
Can you jump between mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls issues without missing a beat?
Are you comfortable going online with a PLC to watch ladder logic and track I/O in real time?
Do you like improving reliability as much as repairing breakdowns?
At Atlas Seals, you’ll support CNC machines and custom automation in a production environment. This is not a facilities-only role—though you’ll occasionally help with general building and facility tasks.
Role snapshot
Own preventive maintenance on CNC lathes, mills, Wire EDMs, and other equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including unique and custom-built automation.
Service pneumatics and basic hydraulics: cylinders, solenoids, sensors, proximity switches, valves, actuators, pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes, relays, contactors, and VFDs.
Diagnose industrial electrical issues and distinguish between electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls root causes.
Safely work with 24 VDC controls and 480 VAC three‑phase power.
Interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.
Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, mechanical measuring instruments) to validate and isolate faults.
Assist with equipment installs, upgrades, modifications, and CI projects.
Keep PM schedules current and document all maintenance/repair work.
Partner with manufacturing and engineering to spot patterns and increase machine uptime.
Follow safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures rigorously.
Must‑have capabilities
Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
Proven PM work on CNC equipment; lathes/mills preferred; Wire EDM exposure is a plus.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and confidence with unfamiliar equipment.
Working knowledge across pneumatics, basic hydraulics, motors, bearings, sensors, switches, valves, and common industrial components.
Industrial electrical troubleshooting and familiarity with standard control hardware.
Comfort with 24 VDC and 480 VAC industrial environments.
Ability to read mechanical/electrical/pneumatic documentation.
Root-cause mindset—diagnose before you replace.
Strong computer literacy beyond Word/Excel: software navigation, connecting to equipment, researching technical info, and learning new interfaces.
Independent, accountable, and thorough from problem to resolution.
Nice-to-have: advanced controls
Bring strong controls troubleshooting and you may qualify for a higher compensation band. Our machines leverage Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell platforms spanning legacy to modern.
Schematic reading and signal tracing through control systems.
Custom automated equipment troubleshooting without OEM support.
Support and upkeep of legacy automation platforms.
Bonus skills
Microsoft Visual Studio, VB.NET, VB6, or other PC‑based machine‑control/HMI apps.
We welcome applicants at various experience levels who meet the core requirements. Don’t have all the advanced controls skills yet? Apply anyway—you’ll have opportunities to grow.
