PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Technician in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Manufacturing Equipment Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment used in circuit card assembly production. This 1st shift role requires strong SMT equipment experience, AOI experience, electronics troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and at least 10 years of related technical experience.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of related technical, manufacturing equipment, maintenance, repair, or para-engineering experience.
- SMT manufacturing equipment experience.
- AOI equipment experience.
- Ability to read and write English.
- General knowledge of mechanical hand tools and soldering equipment.
- Working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment using drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to locate failures and replace defective components or modules.
- Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills related to process, product, equipment, and procedure issues.
- Ability to maintain maintenance, inventory, and repair logs.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, test tools, and related equipment.
- Ability to work with or around chemicals used in production areas.
- Ability to support a flexible schedule, including possible weekend work or first/second shift coverage.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete required manufacturing training programs, including PWB handling, first piece certification, component identification, and ESD.
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree or vocational certificate in a technical program.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- MyCronic pick-and-place experience.
- Universal Instruments pick-and-place experience.
- Koh Young or YesTech AOI experience.
- SMT circuit card assembly inline wash experience.
- MPM screen printer experience.
- Experience supporting circuit card assembly production.
- Experience working with production leadership, product engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, or test engineering teams.
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair in-line manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor, evaluate, report, and improve manufacturing equipment performance.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on CCA production equipment.
- Complete immediate repairs to reduce equipment downtime.
- Diagnose failures and replace defective components or modules.
- Perform basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment and technical documentation.
- Support improvements to optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems on existing equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, test tools, and equipment to support repairs and maintenance.
- Work with production line leadership, product engineers, process engineers, quality engineers, and test engineers.
- Estimate labor or equipment needs and support requisitions as required.
- Support production requirements through flexible shift or weekend coverage as needed.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 1st shift.
- Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM.
- Flexible schedule may be required, including possible weekend work or first/second shift coverage.
- Overtime expected as needed.
