POSITION SUMMARY  
The Manufacturing Cost Estimator has primary responsibility for evaluating bid specifications and 
drawings, ensuring that all requirements are identified in order to successfully bid and win projects. 
Once bids are awarded, the position is responsible for developing the final process plan, sourcing 
required hardware, communicating all purchasing requirements to the Purchasing Department, and 
kitting hardware for production. This is not a remote position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 
  • Interpret engineering blueprints, specifications and other data to prepare accurate time, cost, 
  • material and labor estimates using supplied software (we will train on software). 
  • Consult with subcontractors, management and personnel in other departments to determine manufacturing processes to ensure accuracy of quotes; Break down the manufacturing process by operations and inspections including any parts, tools and equipment needed. 
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors. 
  • Review material and labor requirement to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components. 
  • Confer with customers to resolve issues and to follow-up on quote status. 
  • Reviews internal and customer supplied documentation for accuracy and completeness, considering manufacturing processes and capabilities. 
  • Interfaces with external customers to obtain appropriate specifications, files, and documents. 
  • Creates manufacturing process plans for details and assemblies, including determining material sizes, plating requirements, coordinator of details and assembles, and quality requirements. 
  • Understands material and process specification (AMS, MIL, ASTM) requirements. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Machine Shop. 
  • Experience in machining on both mills and lathes. 
  • Knowledge of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in Computer software programs (Excel, Word, SolidWorks, etc.) 
  • Experience with Epicor and Paperless Parts a PLUS 
  • Ability to communicate and deliver information accurately. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills. 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledge of creating process plans a plus but will train if necessary. 
  • Working knowledge of certified quality standards (AS9100 Rev D) a plus.
