Manufacturing Expediter

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Expediter in Aiken, South Carolina for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support manufacturing operations by moving materials and products between work areas, staging jobs and fixtures, reviewing production paperwork, and operating forklifts, cranes, rigging equipment, and other material-handling equipment. Two schedule options are available for candidates with the same core experience and qualifications.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Forklift experience and current certification or qualification.
• Crane and rigging certification or qualification.
• Ability to successfully complete required crane and rigging training within two months of hire.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, lifting equipment, hand carts, and other material-handling equipment.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or industrial environment.
• Basic problem-solving skills in a weld and machine environment.
• Ability to review production paperwork before moving materials to subsequent operations.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of material-handling experience using equipment such as pallet lifts, cranes, sit-down forklifts, or stand-up forklifts.

What You’ll Do

• Move products and materials between manufacturing operations and designated staging or lay-down areas.
• Load and unload parts onto weld tables and fixtures.
• Stage weldments, fixtures, and jobs for production.
• Locate and move fixtures and other manufacturing equipment.
• Review paperwork before transferring work to the next operation.
• Identify damaged parts or components and communicate concerns appropriately.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, rigging equipment, hand carts, magnets, and other material-handling equipment.
• Assist with general shop activities to support production flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow established safety procedures and support safe material-handling practices.
• Perform additional production-support duties as needed.

Work Schedule / Shift

Two schedule options are available:

• Option 1: 3/12 schedule, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM.
• Option 2: 4/40 schedule, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM.
• Overtime may be required. The 4/40 schedule currently anticipates approximately 6 hours of overtime per week.

Pay

• $23.88 per hour.
