Job Title: Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer

Pay Rate: $42.00-45.00/hour Location: Indianapolis, IN 46241 Shift: 1st Shift Schedule: M-F, Onsite Employment Type: Direct, Full Benefits

Position Overview:

We are seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer to drive measurable improvements in Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance within aerospace manufacturing operations in Indianapolis. This role will lead structured improvement initiatives using a DMAIC-based Lean Six Sigma approach, ensuring decisions are data-driven and outcomes produce sustained, quantifiable business impact. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a strong manufacturing background and a proven record of delivering measurable operational results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute QCD improvement initiatives using DMAIC methodology.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify root causes and performance gaps.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that reduce waste, improve cycle time, increase yield, and lower cost.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to align on improvement priorities.
  • Establish and track KPIs to validate impact and sustain performance gains.
  • Coach and train team members on Lean Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement principles.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience with strong exposure to process improvement initiatives.
  • Proven experience driving measurable business impact using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
  • Strong analytical capability including statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and KPI development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Track record of quantified results (cost savings, yield improvement, cycle time reduction, OTD improvement, etc.).
  • Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work.
  • Familiarity with aerospace QMS environments (AS9100 preferred).
  • Experience working within KPI-driven operational performance systems.
