Manufacturing IT Systems Engineer
Overview
We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support a large-scale project in the Raleigh area. This role is part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team and will provide Tier 1-2 operational support, as well as assist in the maintenance and administration of IT systems.
This is an individual contributor role (non-managerial) reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager for the project.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with:
Network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points)
Infrastructure systems (monitoring tools, network management systems)
Provide hands-on support for hardware and software, including:
Server room and patch room buildouts
Deliver Tier 1-2 support for:
Network infrastructure
Onsite virtual servers
ERP systems (including SAP support such as iDOC monitoring, analysis, and issue resolution)
Act as liaison between site users and centralized IT support teams
Provide after-hours and ad hoc support for production and IT-related issues
Maintain network and infrastructure documentation according to corporate and regulatory standards
Support backup and restore processes for manufacturing systems
Collaborate with vendors for troubleshooting, installations, and system improvements
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, cGMP)
Follow all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
Participate in system lifecycle activities and IT/automation implementation
Support project milestones and communicate progress to project management teams
Ensure alignment with project scope, quality standards, and architecture requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Preferred Skills & Experience
Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP)
Strong understanding of networking principles and concepts
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining:
Network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls)
Infrastructure systems and monitoring tools
Experience with Windows-based virtual server environments
Background in regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, food, beverage, manufacturing)
Knowledge of:
IT infrastructure lifecycle management
Network security implementation
Regulatory compliance for computer-based systems (e.g., FDA guidelines)
Experience coordinating across IT infrastructure, networking, and application teams
Strong documentation and communication skills
Work Environment & Expectations
Compensation:
$125,000 - $160,000 with company subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance with PTO and Holiday Offerings available
