Manufacturing Learning & Development Specialist

A day in the life

You start on the production floor—observing a punch press setup, chatting with operators, and noting where a quick micro-lesson could lift quality and throughput. Before lunch, you facilitate a hands-on workshop at the press brake, guiding new hires through SOPs, safety checkpoints, and machine startup sequences. Afterward, you open PowerPoint to refine a module on GMP fundamentals, then analyze trainee assessments in Excel to pinpoint skill gaps. You end the day partnering with supervisors to prioritize tomorrow’s training sprints.

What you’ll drive

• Design and roll out end-to-end training curricula for both new team members and seasoned operators.
• Lead practical, shop-floor training sessions and workshops that strengthen skills and reinforce safety.
• Evaluate trainee performance with clear rubrics; deliver actionable, constructive coaching.
• Partner with production leadership to map training needs and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Keep training content, SOP references, and job aids current and accessible.
• Champion an engaging learning environment where participation and questions are encouraged.
• Continuously refresh programs with current industry best practices and trends.

What you bring

• Demonstrated experience delivering training in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience on the floor.
• Clear, confident communication skills.
• Yellow or Green Belt in Six Sigma preferred.
• Solid grasp of production workflows and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse learners.
• Ability to assess needs and craft targeted, role-based learning paths.
